I Walk to Work
**This song started out like most AAHHHH songs do...with Bob and I sitting on his porch brainstorming. We didn't have any strong ideas for songs and we started getting frustrated. I eventually came up with the idea of writing a song about walking to work. I wrote the whole thing pretty quickly, and it quickly became one of our favorite songs (and still is). We originally recorded this as a single, but then rerecorded it for The Polka Collection.**
My job is a good one
It'll get me far
But there's just one problem
I don't have a car
I live six miles away
Five hour commute every day
There's nothing more exhilarating
Than walking to work on a freeway
I walk to work in a suit and tie
I walk to work afraid that I might die
I walk to work, soot makes it hard to see
I walk to work, I'll get there eventually
Driving is for suckers
That cant take the heat
Get out of your car
And back on the street
I live six miles away
Five hour commute every day
There's nothing more exhilarating
Than walking to work on a freeway
I walk to work in a suit and tie
I walk to work afraid that I might die
I walk to work, soot makes it hard to see
I walk to work, I'll get there eventually
Bloody and battered
My clothes torn and tattered
But I still made it on time
My boss wasn't flattered
But nothing else mattered
That promotion had to be mine
